The Cocoon Hotel is located in front of one of the best beaches in Salvador, Praia Jaguaribe, in the middle of Salvadors main tourist zone on the west of the peninsula, near the best restaurants and entertainment. The hotel is only four miles from the Deputado Luis Eduardo Magalhaes International Airport. The heart of the hotel is the Cocoon lounge, facing the swimming pool (whose lights change color every five seconds), where one can enjoy a drink on oversized couches and have a massage on the sundeck. The Cocoon also boasts an Italian restaurant. The entire property is also covered by free wireless Internet and the lounge is a great place to take out ones laptop. The hotel owes its unusual appearance and atmosphere to a philosophy, which incorporates elements of minimalism and futurism whilst being completely open to the marvelous Bahia culture, home of Carnaval and Capoeira. Resembling a space ship landed on a bamboo forest, the hotels building materials are perfectly integrated with the forest and the environment. Interesting features include the sunny veranda, which is ingeniously supported by the rooms bamboo walls, as well as the hotels vivid illumination when night falls. Each piece in the furnishing of the room and the hotel, such as the platform beds, couches and projected lighting, reflects the special concept whereby high-tech and tradition merge, creating a unique environment. The hotel features rooms facing the beach.
